I could decently pass for a Canadian if I learned a bit more of french. And, you know, actually lived in Canada. Also, that second one might not be too far off.

I'm not originally from Canada, my knowledge of French is next to nonexistent and I pass for Canadian all the time.
It's a nice place to live. You might not appreciate the winters though...

Oh, winters I can handle just fine, it's the hot temperatures from around here I wasn't built for... 10°C is absolutely perfect for me on a hot day.

I was born here in Canada, yet I'm native to Campinas in Brazil. My french is so-so, I don't use it every day. People think I'm a fully blooded Canadian though.

I have both US and Canadian citizenship. Canada is just like the US but people are more friendly and they have higher taxes. It would be easier to buy a Nova up north...

Ah, you're well suited then. Summers can get quite hot [and humid] in my part of Canada as well but it's manageable. ~20C is perfect shorts weather for me. Any warmer than 25C and I keep my movement to a minimum. In the winter (around -20C right now) I generally suffice with just a t-shirt under my leather jacket. I'm usually plenty warm by myself. :)
The 15 year import regulation here isn't too bad either. If/when I have the funds I'll be importing some nice Euros that I've been missing (Escort Cossie here I come).

Nice... If I'm at my parents' place during the summer, I usually camp all my day in m room with the AC turned to 15°C and nothing but shorts and a shirt. I haven't used anything heavier than a flannel shirt during the winter for years now, and my hometown can sometimes go as low as -7°C during the winter nights.

At least in Ontario, you'll get by without French.
I once made the stupid mistake of asking a Quebecois restaurant owner if he knew English. He got mad sarcastic.
Do not ask people if they know English in Quebec. Don't.

Umm, hold the door open for someone else and generally be a nice person and you'll fit in just fine. No French required.
And if you're soon to join our fold, welcome!

Sorry... :p
But I actually do like the language quite a lot, at least what little I've learned so far. I need to sign up for another semester this year.

Higher taxes sounds a bit nasty, I wonder if they're as high as in Brazil, and if the services provided are as bad or nonexistent.... I'm guessing no, as Canada is usually listed among the best places to live.

Learning a new language is pretty fun. Duolingo is a pretty sweet app for learning french.
